Love Through the Years

Samantha Miles

Author Introduction:

Throughout my haiku learning process I have run into many obstacles. I never seemed to be able to find the right words and the right things to talk about. One day though it made sense, I needed to write about something that hits home for me and that's where my title for this book comes in. If you asked anyone who knows me they would tell you that there is always only one thing on my mind and that's love. So for this book I compiled some of my best love haiku and I don't mean just the happy cheerful ones either. This collection tells the story of love from childhood and into the later years in life. When I write I like to spill my heart in a way. I want to let my readers into my heart and soul and I want them to be able to relate my memories to their own.

I guess
he'll never be mine

We all have these memories about following in love with someone who doesn't like us back or that sweet summer romance and I want to repaint those images for my readers.

bedtime story
daddy always knows
what to say

homecoming bonfire
blazing bright
first kiss

his head in the game
he will never know
she exists

high school sweethearts
a little lie
ends it all

hazy moon
second chances
one last time

gives her strength
to pray

lips touch
one last time
departing summer

tears fall down
his cologne still lingers
in the hoodie

signing his name
he notices
the mistletoe

a single rose
tells the time left
to find true love
