Haiku to Edit 1

country music
hot summer night
chilled lemonade

clip clop clip clop—
strutting through the hallway
at grandma and grandpa’s

car is packed
gathering in the home
see you soon

moon full
eerie night
bats fly

clay dried to the floor
furrowed brow
wet hands create

patiently waiting
ever scared and anxious
broken vase

goose egg
wet mothers shoulder

clock runs down with three seconds left
she lets go
and she scored the winning shot

curled up in bed
kitten sleeping close
TV flickering in the background

the rug moves again
new kitten
attacking frays

on the driveway with papa
taking turns
making vanilla ice cream

old closet doors
filled with clothes and shoes
that are too big for you

trickling river
small fish surround feet
shells glimmer

warm summer day
playing in the yard
puppy running by me
