of the haiku in this collection were just spur of the moment
writings. It usually was an event that was going on in front
of me. Many go along with memories of when I was younger.
the ash settles

one was written about a memory of when my families house
burnt down in December of 1993 a week before Christmas.
It is over, and things are all good now, but its something
that I will never forget.
haiku is based only a month before the previous one. Our
car was hit by a bulldozer bucket that had fallen off of
a flatbed truck and literally knocked us down a cliff. That
was definitely a hard year for our family, but we are sane,
well, most of us.
I enjoyed writing haiku about different people that I have
met and friends that I have made. Some friends that I will
never see again, or havent talked to since the day
I moved into college.
was the last time I saw one of my best friends. Enough sad
stuff anyway. I wanted to name my collection something fun.
I think that "I dont get it..." pretty much
sums me up. I never get anything!
I think when I write my haiku, Im just plain weird,
drunk, or just tired. I dont know, does anyone really
